Helen Grier, a Chicago resident and LaGrange native passed away Tuesday after a 26-year battle with MS.
Affectionately known as “Puddin”, she was born Jan. 25, 1960, to John and Zadie Grier in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia.
She was a member of First Baptist Church on Fannin Street in LaGrange; graduated from LaGrange High School, and was employed by Duracell for over 20 years.
Survivors include her son, Michael Sands-Grier of LaGrange, Georgia and four grandchildren; two brothers: Johnny (Joan) Grier, LaGrange, Georgia and Bobby Grier, Chicago, Illinois; three sisters: Doris Anderson, Atlanta, Georgia; Thelma Newsom-Cox, Eastvale, California; Bernice (Phillip) Grier Johnson, Chicago, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful lifelong friends.
The Service will be Saturday morning at 11 a.m. at Wilson Chapel UM Church, Stovall.
The excellent care of Ms. Grier is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
