Sister Charlie Mae Beasely Thornton passed away Monday, June 27, 2022.
She was born May 30, 1939, to the late Sam C. Beasley and Mamie Kate Porter Beasley in LaGrange, Georgia.
She united with Mt Zion Baptist Church; and was educated at Ethel W. Kight High School.
She was previously employed by Days Inn and retired as a restaurant entrepreneur, Paradise Café.
Survivors include nine children: Donnie (Josephine) Beasley of LaGrange, Georgia; Eva Kate (Timothy) Bray of Atlanta, Georgia; Johnny B. (Linda) Thornton of LaGrange, Georgia; Vick L. Thornton of Atlanta, Georgia; Elizabeth (the Rev Rob) Hopson of LaGrange, Georgia; Rodney Thornton, Charlie (Joann) Thornton, Jeffery (Cassandra) Thornton, all of LaGrange, Georgia and Kevin Thornton of Atlanta, Georgia; 53 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; her siblings: Eulus (Sandra) of Trotwood, Ohio; Curtis (Martha) of Decatur, Georgia; Dorothy B. Moss of Decatur, Georgia; William (Barbara) of LaGrange, Georgia; Roberta (Junior) Ware of Decatur, Georgia; Betty (Hubert) Neal of Lithonia, Georgia; Warren of Ellenwood, Georgia; Barbara Stevens of Stockbridge, Georgia; and Florence Ragland of LaGrange, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
The Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at True Gospel Cemetery.
The excellent care of Mrs. Thornton is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
