LaGrange resident Dorothy Carson Pattillo celebrated her 100th birthday last Saturday at the Callaway Baptist Church (CBC).
In attendance were 150 people, about 65 of which were family members and other relations to Pattillo, as well as a good number of friends from CBC, First Baptist Church, the Red Hat ladies group, and the community.
Everyone enjoyed themselves and heard stories of “Aunt Dot’s” life and listened to the beautiful voice of Mandy Brown, according to Pattillo’s nephew, Doug Flor.
CBC Pastor Brad Thompson spoke a few words about Pattillo’s 28 years of faithful service at Callaway Baptist Church. Pattillo teaches a Sunday School class and a midweek Bible study for women of all ages. Before moving to LaGrange, Dot and her husband, Robert, with who she was married 62 years, lived in the Mableton and Austell areas of Atlanta where she worked as an assistant to the President at Sears on Ponce de Leon in Midtown, Atlanta.
“I neither drank nor smoked and have loved the Lord Jesus Christ as [my] savior,” Pattillo said as the attribution to her longevity.
