Suspect, target unknown in Wellstar shooting

The LaGrange Police Department is still searching for a suspect and motive in an exterior shooting at the Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center Friday night.
According to a press release, officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to WGMC in reference to a bullet entering the window of a patient’s room. The patient’s room was on the hospital’s third floor in its labor and delivery ward.
No one was injured in this incident.
Lt. Mark Cavender said Monday it is unknown if the patient in the room was the intended target. He said it was unknown at this time if the hospital was the intended target or if the incident was a case of misfire.
