A LaGrange woman was found stabbed to death in the area of Fort Drive Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.

The female was identified as Breanna Burgess. According to Erin Hackley of the Troup County Corner’s Office, Burgess was 26. Other than her initial injuries there is no other evidence of injury. 

The body was found by the LPD when an officer was patrolling the area of Fort Drive around 2:35 a.m. Wednesday. Hackley said she was found near the West Georgia Techincal College Campus.

Burgess will be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigations Medical Examiner’s Office in Decatur for an autopsy, Hackley said.
