A man was shot after allegedly breaking into a home on Ginger Circle Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the Troup County Sheriff’s Office.
TCSO deputies were dispatched to 621 Ginger Circle at 2 a.m. in regard to a person who had been shot. The investigation determined that Chadwick David Lyons, 36, of LaGrange, forced his way into 623 Ginger Circle. According to the press release, the homeowner heard Lyons talking inside the home, confronted him with a handgun and fired a single shot toward Lions, striking him in the lower abdomen.
At that point, Lyons fled from the home and ran to 621 Ginger Circle. He woke up the homeowners by banging on their door, and they called 911. Lyons was transported to a Columbus area hospital.
TCSO said vehicles were entered at two different locations Thursday morning and Lyons is believed to have entered them before breaking into the home at 623 Ginger Circle.
