LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce and LDN partner for upcoming candidate forum

On Thursday, Oct. 20, The LaGrange Daily News and LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce will partner for a candidate forum.
The forum will include candidates from all of the contested local races, including LaGrange City council, State Senate District 29 and State House of Representatives District 137.
Limited seating will be available at the chamber office, located at 111 Bull Street. The LDN will live stream the forum on its Facebook page and the video will remain on the page for anyone who can’t watch it live.
“The candidate forum continues to be an important event hosted by the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce,” said Chamber Board Chairman Jamey Jackson. “As an organization, we are often the convener of state and local elected officials along with business and the community to make Troup County the best place to live, work, play and operate a successful business. The candidate forum gives a voice and audience to all of those entities so that voters have the ability to make informed choices at the ballot.”
All candidates in those three races have been invited to attend.
The candidates for LaGrange City Council are Candidates who qualified to run for the position include Leon Childs Jr., (Nonpartisan), Ashley AC Cousin (Democrat) Israel Prince Barsh (Nonpartisan), Marquavious “Quay” Boddie (Independent) and Maiya A. Dowell (Nonpartisan).
The candidates for State Senate District 29 are incumbent Republican Randy Robertson and Democrat Ellen Wright.
The candidates in House District 137 are incumbent Democrat Debbie Buckner and Republican Justin Rickett.The forum will start at 6 p.m. ET and is expected to last around two hours.
