The Lafayette Christian School boys basketball team kept its early season momentum rolling with a 79-37 win over Flint River.
The Cougars dominated the first half, outscoring Flint River 53-12 over the first 16 minutes of play. They never looked back, controlling the game from opening tip to final buzzer.
Adam Saylor put on a clinical performance in the low post, scoring a game high 21 points while adding six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Joshua Zapata sparked the offense from his point guard spot, scoring 12 points and dishing out 10 assists as the ball was moving well for the Cougars all night. Nobody exemplified this more than Baylor Wise who did not score a single point yet still registered five assists.
Leading scorer Bruno Tellez had a quiet day by his standards, but was still able to score 12 points in the game.
Lafayette Christian moves to 5-1 and bounced back after its lone defeat last time out against Heriway. The Cougars have one final game before Christmas break when they take on rivals LaGrange Academy next Tuesday.
