Home sweet homecoming.
LaGrange Academy got to give the home crowd something to cheer about in a big 50-42 region win on Friday against Oak Mountain.
It was a true war with barely anything separating the two teams early. The Warriors trailed by two points after the opening quarter which remained a two-point deficit heading into the halftime break. The Warriors could not chip into the lead in the third quarter either.
The fourth quarter was all LaGrange Academy however. Brayden Salter came in big in the clutch with three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter. Salter was second on the team with 13 points. Jackson Malone was also a big part of the fourth quarter rally, scoring six of his team-high 15 points. Sam Anderson finished with nine points while Alex Jarvholm had eight to help lead the way. John Calhoun scored five points to round out the scoring for the Warriors.
LaGrange Academy has won two games in a row for the first time this season and improved to 5-10 overall and 2-2 in region play. The Warriors will have a big region game on the road to St. George’s next Friday — LaGrange Academy lost the first matchup at home 45-42 and will be looking for revenge.
