The Troup County School System hired a new assistant superintendent of maintenance and operations at Thursday’s meeting.
As part of human resources recommendations Thursday, the school board approved the hiring of Dr. Pennie Davis. She will replace Dennis “Chip” Medders, who retired in January.
“She is a very experienced person that has been a principal, a curriculum director and has been doing operations for a while,” Superintendent Brian Shumate said.
Davis, currently works as the head of facilities in Camden County. She is expected to start the new position on May 22.
Shumate said Davis’ superintendent requested TCSS to allow her to get to the end of school before moving positions.
