LaGrange clinches playoff berth behind hat trick from Cottle

The LaGrange soccer team cruised past Fayette County 7-1 on a perfect evening at Callaway Stadium on Friday to clinch a second straight playoff berth under coach Jon Callahan.
The Grangers never let off the gas. Karley Perry scored the opening goal in the first 20 minutes of the game and the home team was off and running from there.
Sam Cottle stole the show and scored a hat trick on the evening. Tatum Fritchley and Gabi Martinea got on the scoresheet with a goal each. Fayette County also scored an own goal in the game to make it seven goals for the Grangers.
After scoring the opening goal, Perry went on to provide two assists in the game. Carlee Roland had an assist to her name as well.
Emma Maradik made one save in goal.
LaGrange is now 8-8 overall and 4-1 in region play. The Grangers will have to win their final two games of the season against Troup and Whitewater to earn a home playoff game. The first of those games will be at home versus Troup on Tuesday.
