County Manager Eric Mosley said the county is responding to calls for trees on houses and entrapments in the southern portion of Troup County, after a possible tornado struck the area.
Mosley said there was significant damage on West Point Road, Adams Road, Shoemaker Road and Oak Grove Road.
“We are seeing a lot of damage in those areas,” Mosley said.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City’s tornado warning said the storm had a “confirmed large and dangerous tornado” as of 7:10 a.m.
Mosley said several sheriff’s deputies vehicles had damaged windshields from the hail that hit the area.
“We’re getting multiple calls through our 911 departments,” Mosley said. “We are responding with fire rescue resources, the sheriff’s office, AMR to some damage. We’re seeing obviously less and less damage to the north like last time and ,or the damage to the south, an area that really wasn’t impacted from the previous storms.”
