Many eyes in Troup County Friday night are on the NFL Draft, where former Callaway High School star Tank Bigsby could hear his name called during the second or third round.
After a tremendous career at Callaway, Bigsby ran for 2,903 yards at Auburn University. He scored 25 touchdowns for the Tigers before declaring for the NFL Draft.
Bigsby was Mel Kiper from ESPN’s 125th ranked prospect overall and his ninth rated running back. Two running backs were drafted during round 1 on Thursday — Texas’ Bijan Robinson and Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs. Traditionally, more running backs start coming off the board following round one.
A total of 102 players will have been drafted by the end of Friday night’s round three.
If Bigsby is not drafted Friday night, rounds 4-7 are Saturday.
