Mr. Robert E. Lee Strickland passed away peacefully Monday.
He was born July 23, 1952, to the late Charlie Frank and Jearlene Johnson Strickland in Heard County, Georgia.
At an early age, he united with Stateline Baptist Church in Glenn, Georgia, attended Mary Johnson School in Franklin, Georgia and later he attended Troup Technical School, LaGrange, Georgia.
Robert worked construction in the late 60’s to help build dorms at LaGrange College and was employed at Franklin Aluminum (now Jac Products) in the Cast House in Franklin, Georgia for over twenty-five years before his health failed.
Survivors include seven children: Keisa Edmondson, Robert Edmondson, and Robin Edmondson, all of Canton, OH; Veronica Deree Strickland, Danielle (LaSwann) Beasley, Dominique Brewer and Erwin Brewer, all of LaGrange, Georgia; seven siblings: Darlene (Samuel) Moore, Josephine Dallas, and Earnest M. Strickland of LaGrange, Georgia; Belle Glenn, College Park, Georgia; Kathryn (Kelvin) Williams and Carolyn Singh of Conyers, Georgia; and Mary (Eddie) Jones, Carrollton, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Bobbie Jean Strickland of Hogansville, Georgia; one uncle, Robert Joe Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; three aunts: Elizabeth Strickland and Georgia Strickland of Canton, OH; and Minnie Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; twenty grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, twenty-seven nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
The Service will be Monday at noon in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
