A Troup County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested for boating under the influence Saturday evening, according to Sheriff James Woodruff.
Jimmy Dwayne Hancock, 54, was arrested and has been placed on administrative leave, according to Woodruff. The sheriff said Hancock was stopped by the game warden for an anchor light on his boat. He was then determined to be under the influence and arrested for two charges — operating a watercraft under the influence and light on vessels required.
Hancock works in TCSO’s court division. He was taken to the Troup County Jail but has made bond.
