Janice J Carnes

Janice J Carnes, 91, of LaGrange, GA went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Janice was born January 8, 1932 in Brookhaven, MS to the late John Henry Tucker and Willowene Coke Tucker

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Walter Tucker.

She is survived by her daughters, Karen L. Doughty and Janet K. Carnes, son-in-law Allen Doughty, granddaughter Leigh Anne Cavanaugh (and husband Sean), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Janice loved music and, in her youth, played the French horn.  She taught English at both the middle and high school levels in Texas.  And for the last 12 years of her teaching career, she was a school librarian.   

Janice also enjoyed reading and studying Scripture. She was an active member at First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a wonderful and caring mother and an inspiration to her family. 

A private Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the columbarium at First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, GA.
