The LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Valor Awards Thursday night presented at Great Wolf Lodge.
The award program started out as part of the chamber’s monthly Early Bird Breakfast but has since become an event on its own and an annual tradition for the community.
The event honors first responders of all types for their brave and timely actions that help keep our community safe. The awards recognize all three police and fire departments, the sheriff’s office as well as 911 and ambulance personnel.
“The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce is honored to celebrate Troup County’s First Responders during the Valor Awards Ceremony Thursday evening at Great Wolf Lodge. This is a wonderful opportunity to say thank you for their service and to recognize those who go above and beyond every day to keep our community safe,” Chamber President Connie Hensler said.
The ceremony includes individual and unit awards. Award presentations include the Purple Heart, Medal of Valor, Lifesaving Award, Medal of Merit, Public Safety Person of the Year, Public Safety Unit of the Year and Communications Officer of the Year.
