The Junior Service League of LaGrange hosted its seventh annual Taste of the Town on Saturday afternoon at the new Overlook Plaza between Wild Leap Brew Co. and the new Nutwood location downtown.
The free family event allows local artisans, restaurants, bakers, brewers, barbecuers and everyone in between to show off their tasty goods in a festival-style atmosphere in downtown LaGrange, while also serving a good cause.
The event serves as a fundraiser for JSL, which in turn raises money for local non-profits including Good Sam Ministry, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, The Exceptional Way, Foster Christmas Hope, Harmony House, First Choice Women’s Center, Circles of Troup County, Safe Families for Children and LaGrange Art Museum.
The 2023 Taste of the Town Food & Drink lineup featured offerings from local favorites like Gus’s Grill, Wild Leap, and Beacon Brewery to southern chains LaGrange has come to love like YourPie and Chicken Salad Chick.
The lineup also included Ellison Brother’s BBQ, Aunt Zesty’s Lemonade, Kona Ice, Nola Sneaux Cones, The Hudson Hospitality Group, 505 Eats, Pinky’s Burgers, Halal Times, Mache’s, Creations, Honeypot Bake Shop, Rib Brothers BBQ, Crave Cookies, Stirrup Trouble Mobile Mocktail Bar, The Social Sugar, Sparkles Cookies, The Mad Macaroon, Watermelanin Smoothies, Spice Wing and more.
Attendees were also treated to live musical performances from Wellstar physicians Dr. Vincent Scoglietti and Dr. Mel Stewart with their band, The Day Jobs. The Bill Wicker Trio also performed later in the evening.
The festival also included a demonstration from Champions Training Academy as well as dance performances from Tumbletown and LSPA.
