The Troup softball season came to its conclusion on Thursday when the Tigers lost a 11-3 game to Perry in the super regional championship.
Perry scored eight of its 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Troup, who had already played 18 innings of softball on the day coming into the game, could never quite recover from there.
Perry added a ninth run in the bottom of the fourth inning.
The Tigers offense finally sprung to life in the top of the fifth, scoring three runs. It started with Kaylee Umfress, who hit a two-run double. Camdyn Bassett hit a single to drive in the final run of the game for Troup.
Umfress led the offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Anna Grace Keller, Hadilee Arnold, Haley Kitchens and Bassett all had a hit apiece for the Tigers.
Both Keller and Umfress saw time on the mound, but it was Bassett who pitched the majority of the game.
Arnold, Kitchens, Patience Watkins and Madeira Sirmons all played their final game for the Tigers as they are set to graduate in 2024.
This was the second year in a row that the Tigers lost in the super regional championship.
