A new upscale restaurant has opened in Hogansville with a distinctive dining experience.
404 Celsius celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting on Wednesday. Owners Jennifer and Chad McElroy officially opened the unique steakhouse to the public later that evening.
Dining at 404 Celsius offers a fun and novel twist on the traditional steakhouse. The bar and steakhouse features an innovative grilling technique where guests cook their steaks over a blackstone lava rock grill. The method allows diners a fun table experience, while also allowing guests to cook their steaks, lamb chops, salmon and tuna to their exact preferred temperature.
The name 404 Celsius comes from the optimal temperature (759° F) of the lava rocks that patrons use to cook their steaks at their table.
The restaurant offers much more than the lava rock menu. The soft open menu includes gourmet options from tuna poke nachos to lobster ravioli and more. If dinner isn’t what you’re after or you just want to grab a drink beforehand, the restaurant has two bars where you can enjoy a carefully crafted cocktail or mocktail while watching a game, hanging with friends or just taking a quick break.
For those less daring, the experienced staff can cook your steak in the back of the house if you don’t want to try your hand at cooking it yourself on the lava rocks.
Jennifer said for the next couple of weeks they will be offering the soft menu available on their website or Facebook page.
“We have a larger menu that we will roll out here shortly. That will allow for our chef’s table. We have three exclusive tables that can be reserved in the middle of our main dining room that can offer three, five and seven-course chef selected dining meals that are hand-picked based on dietary restrictions for guests,” Jennifer said.
The restaurant also offers tableside service where staff provide tableside carving and cook meat for guests.
Co-owner Chad said the restaurant was packed on opening night, with plenty of patrons ready to try out Hogansville’s newest restaurant. So far, the restaurant appears to be a hit.
The restaurant plans to expand its menu offerings soon after they are acclimated with the soft launch. Menu additions aside, Jennifer said they are here for the long haul.
“We plan on being a staple in the community for a very long time. We’re excited to be here and we hope everybody comes out and tries to experience and appreciate what we’ve done to [The Depot],” Jennifer said.
The restaurant does allow walk-ins but they highly recommend getting a reservation because there could be a wait depending on the size of your party.
404 Celsius is located inside The Depot off of Main Street in Downtown Hogansville. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. The restaurant also offers a brunch service from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
