Mrs. Ruby Ann Johnson Hester, age 82, of West Point, passed away on Dec. 13, 2023.  

Mrs. Hester was born on Dec. 27, 1940, in LaGrange to the late Carmen Lee Johnson, Sr. and Mary Leona Cardwell Johnson.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace L. Hester, Sr., a brother, Carmen Lee Johnson, Jr., and a granddaughter, Alana Hester.  

Survivors include her children, Wally Hester (Missy), Al Hester (Linda) and Gary Hester (Lisa); brother, Walter “Scoot” Johnson (Martha); grandchildren, Wesley Hester (Sam), Robert Mawyer (Shane), Bethany Anderson (Graham), Ashley Hester and Joshua Hester (Allyssa); great-grandchildren, Kayla Akins, Ian Hester, Addison Mawyer, Cody Anderson, Tobin Anderson and Charlotte Jade Hester; great-great-grandchild, Porter Scott Hester; sister-in-law, Beverly Johnson; extended family. 

Mrs. Hester was a Professional Florist by trade, working in Phenix City, Miami, Knoxville and LaGrange.  Known as the “Rose Lady”, she greatly enjoyed her trade. 

She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, at 1 P.M. at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Max McCord officiating. 

 Interment will follow at Meadoway Gardens.  

Family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 1 P.M.
