The 49th annual Junior Service League Attic Sale figures to be one of the biggest in recent memory.
The sale, typically in October, was moved to Saturday, March 2 at Callaway Conference Center, meaning the JSL has had more time to bring in donations for the fundraising event. That means more good deals on furniture, kitchenware, toys, baby equipment, holiday and seasonal items, garden and sports equipment, home décor and more.
The boutique section of this year’s sale will feature high-end donations from local businesses such as Plum Southern, The Medicine Cabinet, Twigs and Berries, Splash and so many more.
“Over the last several years, I would say this is going to be one of the biggest sales,” said Attic Sale Chair Melissa Brown.
The sale was moved as a trial since the traditional weekend in October is a busy spot on the calendar.
The Attic Sale helps fund the entire calendar for the Junior Service League, a nonprofit focused on giving back.
“We raise money solely for the benefit of the community and everything we are collecting and everything we are selling, that money is going straight back into the community,” Brown said.
Along with service projects throughout the year, the JSL also holds community events such as the Sweetland of Liberty Parade for the Fourth of July, Taste of the Town and a new event, a casino night, that was held in November 2023.
“Not only can you come and get great bargains but also you are helping give back to the community,” Brown said of the Attic Sale.
The sale technically starts on Friday, March 1 with the pre-sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Pre-sale admission costs $5 and items will cost price and a half.
The sale will continue Saturday, March 2 starting at 8 a.m. Early bird entry is from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and costs $5 admission. Admission at 8:30 a.m. and after is $1.
“The incentive of coming out on Friday is you are going to get first-glance access to all of the items that we have,” Brown said. “If we only have this one particular item you’re looking for, and if you wait until Saturday, it may be gone.”
Tom’s Traveling Coffee truck will also be in the parking lot for presale on Friday and the sale day.
