The Lafayette Theatre Company is presenting its second musical of the 2023-2024 season, “Into the Woods,” directed by Dave Dorrell. Opening night was Wednesday and the show continues through the rest of the week.

The talented ensemble includes Jennifer Dorrell, Savanna Hunt, Kelton Hunt, Bruce Patterson, Jade Talley, Hannah Reed, Braeden Martin, Maya Turner, Adam Thornton, Sarah Schanche, Gregg McLeroy, Delion Lance, Jordan-Taylor McIntosh, Madeline Sain, Beth McClanahan, Teagan Kuwana, and Raya McLeroy. Together, they bring to life Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s captivating tale that weaves everyone’s favorite storybook characters into a modern classic.

With 40 years of theatrical expertise, Dorrell is making his directorial debut with the Lafayette Theatre Company. He expressed his excitement about the production: “Get ready for an enchanting journey with this production of ‘Into the Woods.’ The talented cast will leave you in awe and let you experience fairy tales like never before.”

The Lafayette Theatre Company, now halfway through the 2023-2024 season, invites audiences to also indulge in the upcoming show, “All in the Timing,” scheduled for May 9-11.

Located in the LSPA’s Black Box Theatre, guests can enhance their experience by bringing food and drinks for a pre-show meal with friends. The show, sponsored by Pat Briggs, KIA of LaGrange, and Vernon Woods, will also offer snacks and drinks to purchase before and during intermission.

“Into the Woods” showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 22, 23 and 24, with a Sunday matinee on the 25 at 3 p.m. The house and box office open one hour before the show, allowing patrons to enjoy their meal before the magical journey begins.
