Three people were shot in the area of Heritage Road Saturday night, according to a press release from the LaGrange Police Department.

The LPD responded to the 200 block of Heritage Road at 12:55 Saturday morning. Several calls came into Troup County 911 as officers were responding.

Officers located two people who had been shot. One victim was shot in the abdomen and another, a juvenile, was shot in his abdomen and arm. Emergency medical aid was provided to both of the subjects before they were flown to hospitals outside of Troup County area for treatment.

A third subject, also a juvenile, had been shot in the arm and drove himself to Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center for treatment.

The LPD said the initial investigation revealed that the shooting was related the illegal sale of marijuana in the immediate area of the shooting. The investigation is active and anyone with information or evidence of the crime is asked to contact the LaGrange Police Department. Arrests related to this incident are pending.
