May election will be full of contested races

It’s going to be a busy election season in Troup County. Qualifying ended for county races on Friday, and there are 31 local candidates.
Going into Friday, it looked like the four Troup County School Board races might all be uncontested, but that changed in just a few hours. Seven additional candidates qualified for school board on Friday morning.
Here’s a look at all of the candidates:
