The LaGrange girls soccer team hit the road for the first round of the state playoffs, blasting Bainbridge 8-2 to punch their ticket to the second round.
Georgia State commit Karley Perry was simply sensational, scoring a hat trick to ensure that it was not her final game in Granger blue as well as contributing an assist. Senior Sam Cottle was also sharp in attack, scoring two and assisting another goal.
Amelia Rockwell, Rylan Burton and Briley Cooper all scored a goal apiece. This will be huge for their confidence as they are largely the future of the program. Rockwell had an assist to her name as well.
Another young star, Reese Humphries, assisted four goals in the game.
Junior Emma Maradik made five saves in goal to keep even more shots from the Bearcats finding the back of the net.
LaGrange is now 10-9 on the season. The Grangers have won at least one playoff game in all three seasons under Jon Callahan after falling to Perry in the first round in 2021. The Grangers will either trek to Wayne County or East Laurens in the second round of the playoffs next week.
