LaGrange had to pull a win out of the fire on Friday night. The Grangers hit the road to take on Cairo in the opening round of the 4A state playoffs and were able to pull off a brilliant 3-2 comeback to punch their ticket to the next round.
The first half did not go according to plan for LaGrange. The Syrupmakers scored off a corner just seven minutes into the game and doubled their lead with 18 minutes to go in the half.
An own goal from Cairo with three minutes left in the first half, cut the deficit in half and gave LaGrange some momentum going into halftime.
The Grangers come out of the locker room flying in the second half. Luis Morales leveled the match on an assist from Romans Outland less than six minutes into the second half. The Grangers eventually found the winner with 19 minutes left in the game when Aidan Collins found the back of the net on a pass from Elvis Castillo.
LaGrange is now 10-9 on the season. The Grangers will host Southeast Bulloch next Thursday in the round of 16.
