The Troup County Sheriff’s Office has secured an arrest from a case where a LaGrange business was burglarized in early April.

The investigation began on Monday, April 8, when Troup County sheriff’s investigators were informed of a burglary at Torrance Construction on Hogansville Rd.

During the subsequent investigation, it was determined that a set of keys, a Ford F-150 truck and an unknown amount of cash were stolen from the location.

Investigators were able to identify Billy Ray Anthony Saunders, 38, as a suspect in the case.

On Monday, April 22, Saunders was arrested by Manatee County, Florida on charges of felony theft by taking and felony burglary.

Manatee County authorities were also able to locate the stolen truck at a Home Deport parking lot in their jurisdiction.

Saunders is currently being held at the Manatee County Jail awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
