Jackie Taylor wins Republican primary for the Clerk of Superior Court seat

Jackie Taylor has won the Republican primary election for the Clerk of Superior Court seat. Taylor defeated competitor Nicole Gratton, getting 71 percent of the votes. 


Of the  7,312 voters, 5,181 voted for Taylor, while Gratton received 2,131. 


Currently, Taylor is set to run unopposed in the upcoming November General Election. Taylor has served as the Clerk of Superior Court since 2000. She is seeking her seventh term. Before serving as the Clerk of Superior Court, Taylor served as the Chief Clerk of Superior Court for eight years.

 

Taylor was unavailable for comment.

 

“I of course am disappointed but wish Ms Taylor continued success,” said Gratton. “I hope that she will take some of the ideas from my platform and use those to help improve the office.” 

Prior to running, Gratton was a victim advocate for the court and will go back to being that. “I love people and love serving people in the justice system,” said Gratton, “ We have met a lot of wonderful people along the way and I am grateful for that.”
