City of LaGrange Celebrates Municipal Court Clerks Week

The City of LaGrange is officially celebrating its court clerks this week.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp designated June 10 to June 14 as Municipal Court Clerks’ Week. The City of LaGrange followed suit by declaring it clerks week in an official proclamation on Tuesday.
Municipal Court Clerks’ Week was proclaimed and issued by Kemp on Feb. 2 dedicating, recognizing and extending appreciation for the contributions that Georgia municipal court clerks make to the operations and public experience of Georgia municipal courts in cities and communities around the state.
City of LaGrange Mayor Jim Arrington also issued a proclamation during the June 11 city council meeting to honor its municipal city court clerks.
“We just want to make sure that the council and the public know how much work the municipal clerks do and how important they are in the community and the court system,” Arrington said.
“More people come in contact with municipal court clerks than all other city services combined, and the public impression of the LaGrange Judicial System is largely dependent on public experience in municipal court,” Arrington said in the proclamation. we just want to make sure that the council and the public know how much work the municipal clerks do and how important they are in the community and the court system.
“The City of LaGrange is fortunate to have these caring, dedicated ladies who keep the Court system running smoothly each day without incident,” said Alton West, Director of Community Development, who supervises the municipal court team.
“I want to express my sincere thanks to Demetrius Moss, Yulanda Newton, and LaDonna Hightower for their service to the citizens of LaGrange and the surrounding area,” he said.
