William Thomas “Billy” Jones, 78, of Lagrange, GA, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024.

Mr. Jones was born June 18, 1946, in Langdale, AL to the late Bill Jones and Sara Bailey Jones.

Billy was a faithful long standing member of Hilyer Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school for many years and served as a Deacon, presently Chairman. He graduated from Troup High School and was a veteran of the United States Army as a trained helicopter mechanic at Fort Hood, TX. He later retired from Playtex with 31 years of service and then retired from the Roosevelt Institute in Warm Springs, GA with 10 and one half years of service.

Billy loved the Lord, his family, dear friends and his church family. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who needed one. He enjoyed playing guitar and raising goats on his farm.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years Glenda Jones; son, Byron Keith Jones (Kelly); daughter, Gina Jones Allen (Ben); grandchildren, Allie Allen, Autumn Allen, Abbey Brown, Anna Miller (Jordan), and Ashley Faulk; great-grandchildren, Korbyn Faulk and Knox Faulk; brothers, Randy Jones and Mike Jones; sisters, Linda Chitwood, Jane Jones, Gail Vickery, Diane Giddens and Freda Mitchell.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M. Saturday, June 29, 2024 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Ga. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 P.M on Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The internment will follow at Meadoway Gardens in LaGrange, GA.
