After many years of wearing the traditional police uniform in dark navy, the LaGrange Police Department will be transitioning to its new uniform design on July 3.

The new uniforms will be worn beginning with the day shift at 6 a.m. tomorrow.

The uniform design draws on elements from past uniforms, including the shape of the badge and the shoulder patch.

The final design of these elements, in particular, was decided upon through a vote of the department’s members.  The design will complement the new color scheme of its patrol vehicles, which will be implemented later this year.
