Troup County’s youngest historians are invited to spend a Night at the Museum on Friday.

Kids from 6 to 10 years old are invited to Troup County Archives & Legacy Museum to enjoy a pajama party filled with fun, games and exploration of Ancient Greek history.

Friday’s event will be the third Night at the Museum hosted by the Archives. In the first two events, the kids were shown the movie Night at the Museum and had activities featured around the film. This Friday, the Archives will show Disney’s Hercules and feature Ancient Greek history activities.

Curator Victoria Larcheveaux said kids will learn how to write their names in Ancient Greek and make coins to keep.

The kids are invited to come in their pajamas but they aren’t staying overnight. The event lasts from 6 to 10 p.m. The night will conclude with popcorn, candy and the showing of the animated film, Hercules.

Larcheveaux said she and Archive Director Shannon Lawson had been trying to host similar events for some time but they were finally able to make it happen this summer. The two previous Nights at the Museum were successes.

Larcheveaux said space is limited, so parents are encouraged to sign up now. The event is free but donations are accepted.
