LaGrange, GA – 7/16/2024 – The LaGrange Dragon Boat Race, a beloved community event benefiting Harmony House, took an exciting turn this year with the addition of a dunking booth, bringing a wave of fun to participants on land. The booth, manned by Community Bank’s Director of Community Banking, Bill Stump, and LaGrange city councilman Quay Bodie, was a crowd favorite. Quay Bodie graciously stepped in for Mayor Jim Arrington, who was spared the dunk tank due to a planned vacation.
For a five-dollar donation, contributors were given three chances to dunk Stump and Bodie, and they certainly got their money’s worth. The dunking booth quickly became a highlight of the event, drawing cheers and laughter from the crowd as participants eagerly lined up for their turn.
The dunking booth raised over $500, with all proceeds going directly to Harmony House, supporting their mission to provide a safe haven and support services for those in need. The event not only raised essential funds but also fostered a sense of community spirit and camaraderie among attendees.
Community Bank & Trust’s footprint was broad with huge support for the event, showcasing their commitment to local initiatives and community welfare.
“We are thrilled with the success of the dunking booth and the enthusiasm of our community,” said Stump. “It’s wonderful to see everyone come together for such a worthy cause.”
Bodie added, “Stepping in for Mayor Arrington was an honor, and I’m glad we could contribute to Harmony House in a fun and engaging way. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and the chance to bring more local ‘talent’ to the tank.”
With the promise of even more local personalities stepping up to the challenge next year, the LaGrange Dragon Boat Race and its dunking booth are set to continue making waves and raising funds for Harmony House.
