At the Troup County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Troup County Human Resources Assistant Chardonnay Scott presented the Strongest Link Award of Excellence for July 2024 to Troup County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer Janellia Williams.

The award serves as an employee of the month award for all Troup County employees.

“The Strongest Link Award of Excellence Program is given monthly to a deserving employee who has demonstrated excellent performance, productivity, loyalty, professional pride, and other noteworthy accomplishments,” Scott said.

“The award recognizes that all county employees link together to form a chain that provides the citizens of Troup County with excellent service. No one better exemplified that spirit of excellence and dedication than [Richard] English, who was a true leader and who demonstrated outstanding dedication and service to our community for more than 40 years.”

Nominations for the monthly award are received from county employees and vetted by human resources, who then recommend the award recipient to a committee of peer employees.

Williams was chosen for her dedication to TCSO and the people of Troup County.

“[Williams] has served as an employee for Troup County in many capacities for the last 34 years. She’s employed as the operator of central patrol for the Government Center. She is the hidden jewel of the Government Center who keeps the eagle’s eye on all employees and patrons who enter the premises and build everyone’s faith,” Scott said, reading from the nomination form.

Williams provides wisdom and a positive attitude toward responsibility and also serves as a positive role model for others. This award is for people like her, who work effortlessly and without complaint behind the scenes to ensure that we can do our jobs in a safe environment,” Scott said.
