On Monday at 10 am, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that Hone has reached new lows of intensity and has downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm.

Tropical Storm Hone is 240 miles west-southwest of Honolulu Hawaii and 205 miles south-southwest of Lihue Hawaii, with maximum sustained wind of 65 mph. It’s moving 13 mph to the west.

“… Hone will continue moving away from the main Hawaiian Islands, and pass well north of Johnston Island Tuesday night.” forecasters noted. “Gradual weakening is expected to continue for the next few days.”

YESTERDAY (Sunday):

Yesterday, Hone found new strength and evolved from a tropical storm into a Category 1 hurricane with sustained winds of 75 miles per hour.

Forecasters announced a tropical storm warning for the big Island.
