LaGrange High School was on lockdown today while LPD searched for a burglary suspect.

An LPD Facebook post, confirmed by public information officer, Lt. Jeremy Butler, stated that LHS was placed on lockdown while the police were searching for burglary suspects on a nearby street.

One of the suspects was in custody when the announcement was made at 11:42 a.m. The school was placed under lockdown as a precaution. An hour later the lockdown was lifted.

This was a separate incident from the ongoing standoff on Norwood Avenue. For more information on that story go to: https://www.lagrangenews.com/2024/08/27/lpd-dealing-with-standoff-on-norwood-drive/
