Mrs. Mattie Kate Birdsong West passed away Saturday.

She was born June 28, 1941, in Troup County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Amos Birdsong and Kate Hines.

She joined the New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, LaGrange; graduated from Ethel W. Kight High School, Class of 1959; and retired from Playtex, First Baptist Church on the Square, and Troup County Schools.

Survivors include her husband, Deacon Philip West, LaGrange, GA; a daughter and son:  Millicent Cameron, Fayetteville, GA and Otis (Annie Lois) Cameron, LaGrange, GA; two bonus sons:  Willie (Angela) West and Pastor Larry (Kimberly) West, all of LaGrange, GA; seven grandchildren; siblings:  Joe Henry (Vanessa) Birdsong, LaGrange, GA; Joann (James) Wesley, Sardis, MS; Henry “Sonny” Birdsong, Jr., Chicago, IL; and Donald Birdsong, Chicago, IL; and an array of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

The Service will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at New Macedonia Baptist Church.

The excellent care of Mrs. West is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
