On August 17 th at 12:24 a.m., deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to
a residence in the 7700 block of West Point Road in regards to a person who was possibly shot.
Once they arrived on the scene they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the
abdomen and several other individuals were also on there.

The investigation has determined at this point that a group of people at the location began
arguing which turned into a physical fight and at some point an adult male identified as William
Wall, 18 years old, shot the victim identified as a 41-year-old man, and left the
location. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he is still receiving care.

Investigators have arrested and charged Wall with Possession of a Firearm during the
Commission of a Crime and Aggravated Assault (gun).
