Highland Country Club is overjoyed to announce the return of Todd Ormsby as the new Director of Golf. Todd’s remarkable journey in the world of golf, coupled with his deep roots in the community, makes his return an exciting chapter for the club.

A proud graduate of McIntosh High School, Todd won the State Championship during his time there and was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. His early success propelled him to become one of the top 10 junior golfers nationally, a testament to his dedication and skill. Todd continued his academic and athletic journey at NC State, where he further honed his golfing prowess.

For the past 16 years, Todd has served as a PGA Professional, establishing himself as a leader in the Georgia Section of Junior Golf. His exceptional teaching abilities have earned him the title of Georgia Central Chapter Instructor of the Year, while his overall contributions to the sport led to him being named the Georgia Central Chapter Professional of the Year. Todd’s excellence on the course continues to shine, as he is currently ranked as the #1 Senior Division Player of the Year in Georgia.

Todd’s competitive spirit remains strong, as he recently qualified for the PGA Senior Professional National Championship, set to take place in Sunriver, Oregon, in late September 2024. Additionally, he has secured his place in the PGA Professional National Championship in Port St. Lucie, Florida, in April 2025.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Todd is excited to bring his vision of growth and inclusivity to Highland Country Club. He aims to develop dynamic programming for juniors, ladies, and men of all skill levels, while also hosting high-quality golf events that showcase the excellence of Highland Country Club. Todd is committed to creating an environment where every member feels welcome and at home.

Todd’s return to Highland Country Club is not just a professional move, but a family affair. His wife, Angela Ormsby, a retired LPGA tour player and former SEC Player of the Year at the University of Georgia, shares his passion for golf. Angela currently teaches at White Oak in Newnan but looks forward to spending more time at the club with their family. Their daughter, Laney, who started her golf journey at Highland Country Club, is almost five years old and eager to return.

The Ormsby family’s ties to golf run deep. Their son, Ty, is a freshman at Andrew College, where he plays on the college golf team. He’s excited to return home and reconnect with friends at the club. Their daughter, Sydney, is a senior at Point University, where she is excelling in her final year of college golf and will graduate in May with a degree in Business. Todd’s oldest son, TJ, lives in Chatsworth, Georgia, with his wife, Belle, and they are expecting their first child in early spring—making Todd and Angela soon-to-be proud grandparents, affectionately known as “Lolli and Pops.”

Todd’s return is a homecoming that promises to bring new energy, expertise, and a shared vision for the future of golf at Highland Country Club. His leadership will undoubtedly foster growth, community, and a love for the game among all members.
