On Wednesday, the LaGrange Troup County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of This Is It! Southern Kitchen & Bar-B-Q In LaGrange.
The Atlanta-based southern food restaurant opened in May but circumstances pushed back previously planned ribbon cuttings into September.
Franchise owner Jignesh Patel said he thought This is Its southern food offerings and catering options were perfect for LaGrange.
“We thought it would make sense in LaGrange. It’s a family friendly town. We’re a family friendly restaurant with a good space for families to gather,” Patel said, adding they have space for up to 40 people in private dining.
Patel said that initially after they opened, things started off great with a splash but they have slowed a bit since.
“We took it for granted, the LaGrange community,” Patel said.
Patel said they have listened to the community and are making some changes to get more people in the restaurant.
“It’s great food, so people should come and try us,” Patel said.
Patel said the restaurant’s signature item is their rib tips but they are also bringing back fan- favorite ox tails starting this weekend.
“We also have great sides like mac and cheese and gourmet deserts,” Patel said. “It’s all scratch made here in the restaurant.”
This is It! Is also working to get more involved in the community.
Bruce Griggs, founder of Saving Our Sons, said the restaurant recently provided all of the food for a youth mentorship event he ran.
This is It! Is located in the former Ruby Tuesday building at 305 Morgan Street in LaGrange.
