On Saturday at 4 pm, the National Hurricane Center issued an advisory stating that Tropical Storm Gordon is 1275 miles west-northwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, with maximum sustained wind of 45 mph. It’s moving 9 mph to the west.

“Gordon is forecast to weaken tonight and become a tropical depression on Sunday.” meteorologists observed.

YESTERDAY (Friday):

Yesterday, the system, now named Gordon, became a tropical storm with sustained winds of 45 mph after undergoing intensification from a tropical depression.
