Troup alum Kobe Hudson leads UCF to victory with late touchdown

Kobe Hudson. Remember the name. The former Troup Tiger and current UCF Knight had quite possibly the best game of his college career on Saturday to lead the Knights to a thrilling 35-34 win over TCU.
Hudson finished the game with six catches for 145 receiving yards (just two yards shy of tying his career high for receiving yards that he set last year against Villanova. Hudson also caught two touchdowns in the game. His first touchdown on the young season came on a 27-yard strike to cut the TCU lead to 31-20 late in the third quarter.
That was just an appetizer for what was to come. The Knights were trailing 34-28 with under a minute left in the game when UCF’s starting quarterback KJ Jefferson hit Hudson in stride between two defenders for a 20-yard touchdown that would serve as the winning score in the game. Hudson showed that Troup Tiger toughness when he held onto the ball despite a hit on a defenseless receiver penalty from the TCU defense on the play.
Hudson now has back-to-back 100-yard games and has led the Knights in receiving yards in all three games so far this season. The senior currently sits 10th in the nation in receiving yards with 310 yards on only 12 receptions. Hudson has shown his big-play ability so far this season, having a catch of 45+ yards in every game through three weeks.
Hudson has been one of the main reasons that the Knights have started the season undefeated (3-0). UCF has a bye week next in week four before returning to action at home against Colorado on Sept. 28.
