LaGrange College’s growing nursing program is beginning a spring cohort, and the first starts in January 2025. The change creates two opportunities each year to enter the nursing program.
Interested students will have until Sept. 30 to apply for the spring 2025 semester. The funding to increase student capacity was made possible after Congress approved the college for a $214,000 federal grant that will expand its nursing labs and classroom spaces.
“These funds will allow us to continue to provide our students with the tools they need to become well-rounded nurses,” said LaGrange College Nursing Chair Dr. Sarah Jones. “We are grateful to Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock for their sponsorship of the grant.”
Giving students extensive access to upgraded patient simulator mannequins and vital sign simulators will offer them more practical learning experiences that will prepare them for the workforce.
Admitting a second cohort allows nearly double the number of nursing students to enter the program annually. This will also allow students to be able to retake a class in the following semester instead of waiting a full year.
