LaGrange College has been recognized as a “Best Value” institution by U.S. News & World Report and listed near the top of its category in just-released rankings of American colleges and universities.
“This honor signifies our dedication to offering educational opportunities that are affordable for our students,” said President Susanna Baxter.
To award a “Best Value” ranking, the publication factors academic quality and cost after accounting for total expenses and financial aid.
“We award generous grants and scholarships to our students,” said Dr. John Head, vice president for enrollment management and student experience. “Our commitment as an institution is to afford students the chance to pursue a transforming education at LaGrange College at a reasonable cost.”
The institution also was ranked 13th among 97 Regional Colleges in the South and included on the publication’s list of “Top Performers on Social Mobility.” The latter ranking reflects the percentage of students with great financial need who reach graduation.
To develop the 2025 rankings, U.S. News evaluated 1,500 bachelor’s degree-granting institutions on 17 measures reflecting academic quality and graduate outcomes.
“By commencement day, 87% of our Class of 2024 had already received a job offer or were accepted into graduate school,” President Baxter said. “That number illustrates how well prepared our graduates are for success.”
