Authorities have released details on a vehicle wreck on Whitfield Road that left 714 Diverse Power customers without power around 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

The outage affected electric customers from Hammett Road to Hines Road on the east side of LaGrange.

According to Georgia State Patrol, a white Dodge truck was traveling east on Whitfield Road when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and traveled off the roadway, striking a power pole before overturning.

The driver was transported to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus in stable condition.

The driver is suspected to have been under the influence at the time of the crash.

Power has since been restored to the area, according to the Diverse Power website.
