Next week, the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce and LaGrange Daily News will cohost a political forum to help voters learn more about the candidates for the upcoming Nov. 5 local elections.
LDN and the Chamber are again partnering to livestream the event, which will be held on Oct. 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. Limited seating will be available at the Chamber for those who wish to view the forum in person, but the event will be live-streamed, and available for viewing afterward on the LDN Facebook page.
While many local races are on the November ballot, most have already been decided as the candidates are running unopposed in the general election after defeating their primary opponents. Still, a few races remain contested, particularly at the state and federal levels.
The following candidates have confirmed participation in Tuesday’s forum:
- Andrew Moody (D) will take on Jamie Thrailkill (R) for the Troup County Board of Commissioners District 2 seat.
- Incumbent Randy Robertson (R) will take on Ellen Wright (D) for State Senate District 29.
- Incumbent Debbie Buckner (D) will face off against Stephen Acorn (R).
