The community came together to celebrate and honor Javari Fannin, an 18-year-old lupus survivor, who will be recognized as the 2024 Survivor Recipient at the upcoming Night of Hope Lupus Gala. Javari’s journey has been one of immense strength and determination, and his family, friends, and fellow survivors recently joined forces to ensure his recognition was truly special.

Javari’s story is nothing short of remarkable. A former Troup High School football player, he spent nearly five months hospitalized from January to May, missing half of his senior year of high school. Despite these challenges, Javari triumphed over adversity and was able to participate in his graduation, being rolled across the stage to receive his diploma. His resilience and unwavering spirit have inspired many, and his supporters are committed to letting him know he still has a team behind him—both on and off the field.

As part of the celebration, Javari was presented with a $2,000 check to help him along his journey, further demonstrating the organization’s commitment to supporting him through this next chapter of his life.

In addition to celebrating Javari, the organization shared its gratitude as Chaplain Pastor Michael Jackson offered a heartfelt prayer over Javari’s life and for the continued success of the organization. Javari also received uplifting and encouraging words from his former coach, Brandon Todd, and fellow lupus survivors, further strengthening his resolve and reminding him of the unwavering support surrounding him.

50 Shades Of Pain Inc., an organization dedicated to supporting lupus survivors, is hosting the Night of Hope Lupus Gala on Thursday, November 21, 2024, where Javari will be honored. This event serves as a beacon of hope for lupus warriors, reminding them that they are not alone in their fight. “We are beyond grateful for the love and support the community has poured into our organization,” said founder, Maria Harris. “It’s because of that generosity that we’re able to uplift and stand by our survivors during their toughest battles.”

Ticket sales for the gala are now available for $65 each. The community is encouraged to join in celebrating Javari’s courage and supporting other lupus survivors.
