Mr. James Michael “Mike” Veal, age 74, of LaGrange passed away Oct. 21, 2024.

His funeral will be held Thursday Oct. 24, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. in the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with Rev. Sid Shelnutt officiating.

Interment will follow in Franklin City Cemetery.

Mike was born July 28, 1950 in Troup County to the late James Carie Veal and Sarah Udine Noles Veal.

He was a Christian by faith.

He was retired from Lance Foods where he served as a route salesman for more than 20 years.

In his free time he enjoyed trading horses and trailers and selling produce, particularly melons.

He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife, Roxie Veal of LaGrange; three children: Stephanie Simmons of LaGrange, Chad Veal of Roanoke, and Cody Veal of Hogansville; grandchildren: Shelby Simmons, Lizabeth Simmons, and Owen Veal; one brother, Virgil Veal (Alice) of Roanoke; and a number of other relatives and friends.
