Every business starts with a dream. Over the weekend, the dreams of nearly a dozen young business entrepreneurs became a reality.

On Saturday, the young entrepreneurs from Kids Preneurship Camp set up shop outside the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce for the first Kids Entrepreneur Expo.

The 11 budding business tycoons were all participants in a week-long entrepreneurship camp at the William Griggs Center in July hosted by local photographer and businesswoman Tiffani Bray.

During the camp, 25 kids learned branding and marketing skills, created logos and business cards, and developed business plans. At the close of the camp, a Shark Tank-style competition was held where three of the young entrepreneurs won $250 checks to expand their business endeavors.

Bray, who has offered similar photography camps for kids in the past, created the camp to teach kids how to start and run a successful business.

The mini-expo was held just off of Lafayette Square from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday so passersby could check out booths set up by the young businessmen and women and share their offerings.

Kids from ages nine to 17 sold a plethora of items, including jewelry, accessories, makeup, specialty lemonade, freeze-dried candy and even a kid-authored children’s book.

“We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who came out and supported our young entrepreneurs. Your encouragement, enthusiasm, and willingness to invest in their dreams mean the world to us. Watching these talented kids take bold steps toward their goals is inspiring, and none of it would be possible without a community that believes in their potential,” Bray said.
